About Me
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Teaching Degree. Besides, I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and a Certified Adlerian Counsellor. I am also trained in Advanced Somatic Therapy, Advanced Gottman Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Family Constellations Therapy, Therapeutic Enactment, Addictions Counselling, Vocational Counselling and Energy Psychology.
I have worked in the field of counselling since 1994, and my experience as a counsellor includes: working as a Concurrent Disorders Counsellor for Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and other government agencies for over twenty years, providing mental health services for marginalized individuals and communities, self-referred individuals and couples of various diversity and cultural backgrounds and for people referred to me by WorkSafeBC, BC Victim Services Program and ICBC. I am also an Adjunct Faculty at Adler University where I teach Adlerian Psychology and Psychopathology and provide Clinical Supervision for Graduate Students during their Pre-Practicum Lab Practice.
I have extensive experience in the treatment of Complex Psychological Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, Addictions and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Grief and loss, Chronic Pain, Life Transition, Cultural Adjustment, Career Exploration, Couples Therapy and Personality Style Issues. Besides, I design and facilitate Trauma Therapy Groups, Addictions Recovery Groups, Mood Disorders Groups and Art Groups.
In my spare time, I participate in personal and professional development workshops, practice and teach Judo, hike, travel, make art and dance Salsa and other Latin Rhythms.
